Through sculpture, installation and painting, Élise Provencher explores the various facets of the human condition. With humour, she deals with love as well as existential terrors, friendship and loneliness, social alienation and mindfulness as well as excess. Witnesses of our times, the strange characters that inhabit her creations reveal the contradictions inherent in human nature and pose as a way of reflecting on our relationship to the world as well as to ourselves.

Élise Provencher holds a Master of Fine Arts degree from Concordia University and lives and works in Montreal. Her career includes solo and group exhibitions in Quebec, the United States, France and Germany. She also participated in the 6th edition of the Foire en art actuel de Québec and the Foire de Saint-Lambert.
