Alissa Bilodeau

Guided by the ecological concept of habitat, Alissa Bilodeau develops her projects around the work of fibre and metals. To do so, she works with sculpture, photography and textile installations. Fundamentally linked to an artisanal approach, her approach gives rise to works that reflect on the themes of the path, the abundance and the obsession of the gesture as in the practice of crochet.

Originally from Lambton in the Eastern Townships, Alissa Bilodeau lives and works in Quebec City. She holds a bachelor's degree in visual and media arts from Université Laval and a college diploma in sculpture from the Maison des métiers d'art de Québec. Her career has been punctuated by solo and group exhibitions in France and Quebec. She is the recipient of various prizes and bursaries, including the Prix de l'excellence Art et Culture de la Capitale nationale et Chaudière-Appalaches and the Première Ovation public art mentorship bursary.
